About this fabric

The design is formed from closely spaced herringbone columns, with tiny diagonal stitches turning from side to side to create a consistent chevron rhythm. Olive, khaki and dark brown threads blend together, giving the colourway a grounded, slightly weathered depth rather than a flat plain finish. The compact weave and visible texture make it read as a substantial upholstery cloth in this image. Viewed up close, the alternating diagonals catch the light gently while retaining the overall low-key character of the Finch colourway.

How to use it

Use Finch on a buttoned armchair, dining chair or compact sofa where its muted olive-brown tone can sit comfortably with walnut, aged oak, leather and warm neutral walls. Its fine vertical pattern also adds understated structure to simple, tailored upholstery.

The muted olive-brown ground and fine herringbone texture bring tailored, earthy depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
