About this fabric

The print combines recognisable place names such as Walcott, Blakeney, Lowestoft and Thorpeness with miniature beach and harbour references, giving this colourway a distinctly British coastal character. Its cool grey background keeps the overall effect soft and slightly weathered, while the blue lettering and red tag details remain clearly legible. The design has a 31.5 cm vertical repeat and a 34.3 cm horizontal repeat across the 137 cm usable width. At 224 gsm, it is a versatile mid-weight fabric suitable for both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Explorer Marine on relaxed occasional seating, cushions or full-length curtains in a coastal room, pairing its cool grey and marine-blue palette with chalky whites, weathered timber and muted red accents. Its varied label motifs work especially well where the 31.5 cm by 34.3 cm repeat can be seen across a broader surface.

A playful coastal print with a cool grey ground, marine-blue labels and small red accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
