About this fabric

The design combines readable place-name panels such as Lowestoft, Southwold, Walcott and Blakeney with loose sketches of seaside labels and parcel-like forms. Its cool blue-grey palette is muted rather than saturated, with the occasional mustard accent giving the surface a gently weathered, graphic character. At 224 gsm and 137 cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight textile for both upholstery and drapery. The pattern repeats every 31.5 cm vertically and 34.3 cm horizontally, allowing the varied labels to build an informal all-over effect.

How to use it

Use Explorer Mineral on relaxed occasional chairs, cushions or full-length curtains where its cool blue-grey ground can sit alongside white-painted timber, pale denim and natural wood. Pick up the small mustard details with a muted ochre trim or accessory rather than making them the dominant room colour.

A relaxed coastal print in mineral blues, pale grey and mustard yellow, suited to informal upholstery, curtains and cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
