Courtney Damask Fig

Chiswick Grove Fabrics FabricSAF0202-02

Courtney Damask Fig shows a softly aged slate-grey ground with an intricate damask pattern picked out in pale, chalky threads. The result is ornate without feeling sharp, with the motif sitting quietly into the surface rather than shouting for attention.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Chiswick Grove Fabrics collection is a substantial textile at 415 gsm, with a usable width of 138 cm and a generous 70.7 cm vertical repeat. The woven damask design reads in muted grey tones with a lighter, almost parchment-coloured outline that lifts the pattern against the darker ground. Its 66 threads per cm suggest a fine, closely worked cloth, yet the overall look remains robust and substantial. The large repeat gives the design a grand, traditional rhythm that works especially well in rooms that want pattern with restraint. Although no performance features are noted, the weight makes it well suited to upholstery use.

How to use it

Use this grey colourway on a statement armchair, ottoman or banquette to bring depth without adding strong colour. It also sits beautifully with warm wood, stone, or oxblood accents where a formal, heritage feel is wanted.

Pair with chalky neutrals and aged brass for a classic, softly tailored look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
