Annandale Charcoal/Linen

Country House Fabrics FabricSAF0197-03

Annandale Charcoal/Linen shows a close, all-over floral pattern in soft linen shades against a charcoal ground. The effect is quietly detailed and gently aged, with the pale motifs lifting clearly from the darker background.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Country House Fabrics collection is supplied as a 140 cm usable-width textile with a 60 m standard length, a 58 cm vertical repeat and a 69 cm horizontal repeat. At 300 gsm and 49 threads per cm, it reads as a substantial woven cloth with enough body for structured schemes as well as softer furnishings. In this colourway, the charcoal ground feels cool and muted rather than black, while the linen patterning brings a chalky warmth that softens the overall contrast. The repeated floral and leaf motif is visible in crisp relief, giving the fabric a traditional country-house character without looking heavy.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a pair of formal curtains or tailored upholstery where the charcoal base can anchor the room. It works especially well with oak, limestone, and faded cream paint, which echo the linen notes in the design.

Pair with pale timber and warm neutrals to let the muted floral detail stand out.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Annandale Charcoal/Linen without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
