Boutin Shadow

Boutin Fabric

Boutin Shadow presents a deep shadow-grey ground with fine charcoal and pale grey flecks woven through the surface. Draped into rounded folds, its texture creates subtle changes in depth rather than a distinct printed motif.

About this fabric

The close view shows a substantial-looking woven surface with irregular, lightly slubbed texture and a softly brushed visual character. Its charcoal-grey tone is tempered by cooler grey and muted taupe-grey flecks, giving the colourway a layered, weathered depth. Across the folds, the raised weave catches the light in fine pale threads while the recessed areas read almost graphite. The absence of a large-scale motif keeps the emphasis on the fabric’s tactile construction and tonal variation.

How to use it

Use Boutin Shadow where a room needs a quiet, cool grey anchor: its graphite depth suits tailored upholstery, while the softly varied weave prevents larger surfaces from appearing flat. Pair it with pale stone, smoked timber or muted mauve accents to draw out the colourway’s subtle warmth.

Shadow-grey depth and a tactile woven surface give this versatile fabric a quietly tailored feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
