Chatham Terracotta

Chatham Fabric

Chatham Terracotta brings a warm, weathered character to the Chatham collection, combining rust-toned ornament with a softly aged beige ground. Its close-up surface shows an intricate, symmetrical damask pattern with a tactile woven appearance.

About this fabric

The design is built from scrolling foliage, floral medallions and stylised central motifs, arranged in a formal repeating layout. Deep terracotta-brown details sit against pale beige, while the irregular, softened edges give the pattern a gently distressed finish rather than a crisp modern look. The textured surface catches the light unevenly, adding depth to the warm, earthy colourway.

How to use it

Use Chatham Terracotta on a traditional armchair, footstool or occasional seat where its rust and beige palette can sit comfortably alongside walnut, oak, tan leather and natural textiles. The softened pattern also works well as a richly coloured accent against calmer cream or oatmeal upholstery.

Pair this warm, weathered terracotta with aged wood, natural linen and quiet beige upholstery for a collected traditional scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Chatham Terracotta without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
