About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric, this colourway has a warm brick-red terracotta ground crossed by wide, uneven ivory sections. Fine woven variation within the terracotta gives the surface a softly mottled appearance rather than a flat block of colour. The folds show that the design remains fluid and expressive, with the ivory areas catching the light more cleanly against the deeper terracotta tone. Its broad-scale pattern and relaxed colour contrast make it a distinctive choice when a room needs warmth without a saturated red finish.

How to use it

Use Whitby Terracotta to warm an otherwise pale room, pairing its soft brick tone with natural timber, chalky walls and understated ivory upholstery. The flowing bands would also bring gentle movement to relaxed curtains or occasional seating.

Use the warm terracotta and ivory contrast to bring relaxed colour and movement to seating, cushions or full-length curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
