St James Ochre

The Arthur Portfolio FabricSTJMSOCHRE

St James Ochre has a rich mustard-ochre ground carrying branching botanical stems and repeated four-petalled flowers. The warm base gives the design a deep, autumnal presence, while the cool blue-grey foliage adds definition.

About this fabric

The ochre ground has a warm, golden-brown cast that reads as saturated rather than pale or sandy. Dark charcoal and slate-blue branches spread across the surface in an organic, climbing arrangement, with soft grey-blue leaves creating contrast against the ground. Each flower is outlined in cream and centred with a small turquoise and ochre detail, giving the pattern a crisp, graphic edge. A fine, even surface texture is visible across the textile, lending the colourway a quietly structured finish.

How to use it

Use St James Ochre on a statement armchair, dining chair or headboard where its mustard depth can anchor a room. Repeat the charcoal and slate-blue notes in piping, painted furniture or plain cushions, and pick up the cream outlines with lighter surrounding textiles.

Use this warm ochre colourway to bring depth to upholstered seating, balanced with charcoal, slate-blue and cream accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside St James Ochre without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
