About this fabric

Woven in India from 64% cotton and 36% polyester, this fabric is specified for severe contract upholstery and drapes, with a 40,000 rub test and a 136cm width. The stripe is very narrow and evenly spaced, reading crisp rather than bold, while the spruce ground has a cool, slightly greyed tone. At 528 grams per linear metre and 388 grams per square metre, it has the substance to hold a clean upholstered line, yet still suits drapery where a structured finish is wanted. The overall effect is calm and controlled, with the pale pinstripes lifting the deeper green base just enough to keep it from feeling flat.

How to use it

Use Venice Spruce on a compact armchair, banquette or roman blind where the slim stripe can add order without overpowering the room. Its cool green note works especially well with oak, chalky neutrals and brushed metal details.

A restrained spruce stripe that feels tailored and quietly versatile.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Venice Spruce without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
