Venice Charcoal

Monterey Collection FabricVENICE

Venice Charcoal shows a fine vertical stripe that reads clean and tailored on a pale, softened ground. The contrast is subtle rather than stark, giving the design a restrained charcoal edge.

About this fabric

Part of Ashley Wilde’s Monterey Collection, Venice Charcoal is woven in 64% cotton and 36% polyester and specified for severe contract upholstery and drapes. The fabric has a 136cm width and a 40,000 rub test, making it a practical choice where durability matters. Visually, the stripe is very narrow and evenly spaced, with a cool charcoal line set against a light grey-beige ground that feels calm and understated. At 528 grams per linear metre, it has enough substance to hold a smart, architectural look without appearing overly heavy.

How to use it

Use this charcoal stripe on a tailored armchair, bench or headboard where the fine repeat can add quiet structure. It also works well for curtains in rooms that need a muted grey tone with just enough contrast to sharpen the scheme.

A crisp small stripe that keeps the room tailored without feeling heavy.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Venice Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
