About this fabric

Woven in 100% polyester, Omari Slate is specified for severe contract upholstery and drapes, with a robust 40,000 rub test and a 145cm width. The swatch shows a near-solid charcoal slate tone with subtle tonal variation that softens the depth rather than making it look flat black. Its plain style and substantial 320gsm handle suggest a fabric that will sit neatly on structured furniture while still hanging well at the window. At 464gsm per linear metre, it has enough body for demanding interior schemes without appearing heavy or glossy. Made in China, it is a practical, understated choice when you want a dark neutral with a crisp, modern edge.

How to use it

Use Omari Slate on a sofa, banquette or headboard for a sharp, grounded look, then pair it with pale stone, oak or brushed metal. It also gives curtains a quiet, tailored presence in rooms that need a deeper neutral without a strong pattern.

A versatile charcoal tone that works cleanly on tailored upholstery or simple drapes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
