Madagascar Smoke

Serengeti Collection FabricMADAGASCAR

Madagascar Smoke is a softly mottled neutral with a cool, smoky beige cast and a subtle pebble-like texture across the surface. The overall effect is calm and layered rather than bold, with the pattern fading in and out gently in the weave.

About this fabric

From the Serengeti Collection by Ashley Wilde, this drapery-only fabric is woven in 87% polyester, 12.5% cotton and 0.5% linen, giving it a grounded textured handle with a refined finish. The design measures 138cm wide and features a 38cm vertical repeat and 35cm horizontal repeat, so the softly scattered motif reads as an all-over surface rather than a sharp graphic. In this Madagascar Smoke colourway, the base sits in a pale beige-grey register, while the small flecks and grain create a misted, stonewashed look. At 304 grams per linear metre and 220 grams per square metre, it has enough body for elegant curtains and relaxed window dressings.

How to use it

Use Madagascar Smoke where you want a restrained neutral that still has visible texture, especially in rooms with linen, limestone or pale timber finishes. Its cool-smoked beige tone works well in schemes that need softness without turning creamy or warm.

A muted, textured neutral that brings quiet depth to elegant curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Madagascar Smoke without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
