About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke fabric is a substantial 368gsm woven textile, making its compact handle particularly appropriate for upholstery. Its near-charcoal ground is softened by fine tonal flecks and an irregular woven grain rather than a printed motif. With a 137cm usable width and zero vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, it can be positioned without matching a design across joins. The standard length is 40m.

How to use it

Use Henley Charcoal on a structured sofa, dining chair or occasional seat where its warm, almost brown-black depth will anchor lighter timber, stone and muted metallic accents. The low-contrast texture also suits a calm, layered scheme without introducing a visible pattern.

A dense, softly variegated charcoal weave that gives upholstered pieces a quietly tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
