Colefax and Fowler

Beck Forest

Beck Forest is a softly luminous sheer linen with a cool forest-green cast and a fine, lightly slubbed surface. The cloth falls in relaxed vertical folds, letting the colour read as layered and atmospheric rather than flat.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, Beck Forest has the dry, airy hand and gentle texture you expect from a sheer, with a subtle irregular grain visible across the surface. The colour is a muted forest green with greyed undertones, so it feels grounded and sophisticated rather than bright or grassy. Its 314cm approximate width makes it especially practical for wide curtain drops and elegant full-length drapery, and the 0cm vertical and horizontal repeat means the fabric reads as a clean, uninterrupted plain. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code Z are supplied for this exact cloth.

How to use it

Use it for soft, tailored curtains where the green can cool bright rooms and bring a leafed-in, restful feel. It works well against oak, plaster white and deep bronze finishes, especially where you want colour that stays understated in daylight.

A calm, airy green linen that brings depth without feeling heavy.

Pairs well with

Beck Forest is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
