About this fabric

Portia Blue from the Lindon collection by Colefax and Fowler is woven in 75% linen and 25% viscose, with an approximate width of 128cm and a vertical repeat of 76cm by 63cm. The design reads as a large-scale floral trail with stylised blossoms, leaves and seed-pod motifs outlined in fine taupe-brown detail. The colourway is deliberately soft: pale blue petals and stems sit on a creamy ground, so the pattern feels fresh rather than vivid. The linen-viscose cloth gives the swatch a natural, slightly matte character with a touch of softness in the surface finish.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want pattern without heaviness: it suits relaxed country sitting rooms, elegant bedrooms and light-filled drawing rooms. Pair the powder blue and cream tones with pale oak, weathered painted wood or muted grey upholstery for a calm scheme.

A pale blue floral on linen-viscose with enough body for upholstery and a graceful enough handle for curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Portia Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
