Eaton Plain Old Blue

Eaton Checks and Stripes FabricF2104-25

Eaton Plain Old Blue is a quietly luminous plain with a soft blue-grey cast and a lightly napped, linen-blend surface. The finish reads calm and airy rather than bright, with subtle movement in the weave catching the light.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is composed of 82% viscose and 18% linen, giving the cloth a smooth but softly broken surface that feels refined rather than crisp. With a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm approx and a width of 143cm approx, it is a straightforward plain that relies on tone and texture rather than pattern. In this colourway, the blue is diluted to a pale, misty shade with a cool edge and a gentle grey undertone, so it sits comfortably in restrained interiors. The visible slub and soft sheen from the viscose-linen mix give the cloth enough character for upholstery while remaining elegant for drapery.

How to use it

Use this pale blue with chalky whites, pale oak and brushed metal for a fresh, tailored scheme. It brings a subdued lift to upholstered pieces and works especially well where you want colour without visual weight.

A calm, powdery blue that suits tailored upholstery or quietly elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
