Eaton Plain Ochre

Eaton Checks and Stripes FabricF2104-41

Eaton Plain Ochre is a softly glowing plain with a warm, honeyed tone and a subtly slubbed surface. The finish catches the light gently, giving the colourway a mellow depth rather than a flat yellow.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a restrained ochre: warm, luminous and slightly golden, with the linen content helping to keep the surface from looking too glossy. At approximately 143cm wide and composed of 82% viscose and 18% linen, it has enough body for upholstery as well as a graceful drape for curtains. The plain design and zero repeat make the texture and sheen the focus, with a lightly rippled appearance that feels tactile and elegant. It sits comfortably in Colefax and Fowler’s Eaton Checks and Stripes collection, but here the emphasis is on the fabric’s soft, sunlit warmth rather than pattern.

How to use it

Pair it with pale oak, cream paint and textured neutrals for a refined room with warmth. The ochre tone also works well as a lift against deeper greens or tobacco accents.

Use with warm woods and natural linens to emphasise its mellow glow.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
