Orso Sous Bois

Orso FabricM4114-20

Orso Sous Bois reads as a very dark forest olive, almost black in the shadows, with a soft, matte surface that keeps the colour hushed rather than glossy.

About this fabric

This 100% cotton fabric has a restrained plain appearance, with no visible repeat and an approx. 138cm width, making it a straightforward cloth to work with for upholstery projects. The colour is a deep woodland olive, so dark it pools into near-black at the edges, while the lighter areas reveal a muted green undertone. The surface looks smooth and evenly woven, giving the swatch a calm, tailored character rather than a decorative one. With the supplied √CM fire code and no performance features noted, it suits interiors where the priority is a refined natural cotton look in a grounded, atmospheric tone.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an armchair, banquette or headboard where its deep olive shade can anchor lighter woods, brass and stone. It also works well in low-light rooms, where the near-black depth creates a cosy, enveloping finish.

A rich, shadowy olive that brings depth to tailored seating and warm, layered interiors.

Pairs well with

Orso Sous Bois is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
