Chambray Matchstick

Chambray Fabric54

Chambray Matchstick reads as a softly muted olive with a fine, chambray-like herringbone texture across the surface. The tiny zigzag weave keeps the colour calm and tailored rather than flat.

About this fabric

This colourway combines 47% Polyester, 46% BCI Cotton and 7% Linen, giving the cloth a crisp woven handle with a natural-looking texture visible in the close herringbone repeat. The tone sits in a soft olive range with a pale, chalky yarn running through it, so the pattern feels understated and slightly weathered rather than bright. With a Martindale of 30,000 and a Heavy Domestic usage rating, it is well suited to everyday seating as well as coordinated soft furnishings. The back-coated BS5852 cigarette and match rating adds practical reassurance, and professional dry clean in situ is recommended for care.

How to use it

Use this olive colourway on a tailored armchair, banquette or window seat where the small-scale weave can add interest without overpowering the room. It pairs neatly with natural oak, putty neutrals and deeper moss or charcoal accents.

A muted olive herringbone that feels tailored and easy to live with.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Chambray Matchstick without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
