Chambray Linen

Chambray Fabric53

Chambray Linen reads as a soft sage green with a cool, muted cast and a fine herringbone-like weave visible across the surface. The overall effect is understated and textural, with a gentle linen look rather than a sharp pattern contrast.

About this fabric

Part of the Chambray collection by J Brown, this design sits within a range of 23 patterns and is specified for heavy domestic use. The cloth blends 47% polyester, 46% BCI cotton and 7% linen, giving the surface a dry, lightly textural handle that suits the calm, chalky finish seen here. Its 30,000 Martindale rating supports everyday seating, while the back-coated finish is supplied to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request. In this colourway, the pale sage tone feels cool and restrained, with a soft woven depth that catches the light gently rather than reading flat.

How to use it

Use this muted green on an occasional chair, banquette or tailored cushions where you want a quiet natural note. It pairs especially well with pale oak, stone, putty and brushed brass.

A quietly tailored sage weave that brings a calm, lived-in feel to seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
