About this fabric

This chenille is woven in 100% polyester and measures 138cm wide, making it a practical choice for upholstery projects. The colour sits between charcoal and muted olive, with a cool, softened depth rather than a bright green cast. A tiny, even surface texture is visible across the cloth, adding tactile interest without introducing a pattern. It is suitable for contract and domestic upholstery, is machine washable, and has domestic cigarette-and-match flame retardancy; it can also be treated to Crib 5 contract grade.

How to use it

Pair ROM4184 with warm oak, aged brass and oatmeal textiles to bring out its earthy olive undertone, or use it against pale stone walls for a more restrained, tailored scheme. Its dark neutral depth is especially effective on sofas, occasional chairs and upholstered headboards.

Use this deep olive-grey chenille to give sofas, dining chairs and headboards a grounded, quietly tailored finish.

Pairs well with

ROM4184 is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
