Kantha Grey

Fabrics Fabric170

Kantha Grey has a cool slate-grey ground crossed by tightly packed, irregular navy-black marks. Its gently broken pattern gives the surface a layered, tactile appearance rather than a flat block of colour.

About this fabric

The swatch shows a structured woven surface in slate grey, with short horizontal dashes and darker broken flecks distributed across the face. The charcoal and navy notes deepen the grey without making it read as a solid dark shade, while the uneven motif creates a quiet, handcrafted character. Its dense-looking weave makes it most naturally suited to upholstery, where the small-scale pattern can add texture without dominating a chair or sofa. No composition, width or rub-test data is supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Kantha Grey on a generously shaped armchair, dining seat or sofa where its cool grey tone can sit alongside pale timber, blackened metal and muted blue accents. Keep surrounding textiles simple so the irregular dark markings remain visible as the detail.

A cool slate-grey ground with fine navy-black marks, bringing subtle pattern and tactile depth to upholstered pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
