Ur Ardesia

Upholstery fabrics Fabric003

Ur Ardesia combines a deep charcoal-brown ground with irregular grey geometric fields, creating a strongly textured, architectural surface. The contrasting yarns give the swatch noticeable depth as the light catches its raised weave.

About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric in Dedar’s Upholstery fabrics collection, Ur Ardesia has the substantial visual presence expected of a furnishing textile. Its dark brown ground is crossed by broad, broken shapes in cool grey, with the pattern formed through changes in weave rather than a printed image. Close-set horizontal ridges sit beside rounded, nubby grey sections, giving the surface a tactile contrast between flatter and more pronounced areas. The cool grey flecks prevent the brown from reading as flat or overly warm, while the overall depth makes this colourway particularly suited to statement upholstery.

How to use it

Use Ur Ardesia on a tailored armchair, sofa or ottoman where its charcoal-brown depth can anchor a room. Pick up the cooler grey areas with stone, graphite or weathered-metal accents rather than warm, golden neutrals.

A weighty, tactile geometric weave suited to statement upholstery in rooms with a darker, more architectural palette.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
