Young Nureyev Lichene

Velvet fabrics Velvet020

Young Nureyev Lichene is a deep lichen-olive velvet with a hushed, almost mossy appearance. Its plain surface is softly animated by the nap, which shifts subtly between charcoal grey and muted green as the light moves across it.

About this fabric

This Dedar velvet has no visible motif, allowing the dense-looking surface and subdued colour to carry the design. The shade sits between deep olive and warm charcoal, with a restrained green cast that becomes more apparent at the edges and in the softer areas of the pile. As a velvet, it is particularly suited to upholstery, where the directional nap can create gentle tonal changes across a chair, sofa or headboard.

How to use it

Use this lichen-olive colourway on a generous armchair, enveloping sofa or upholstered headboard, pairing it with pale stone, aged timber and brushed metal. Its dark, softened tone works especially well where a room needs depth without the starkness of true black.

A deep lichen-olive velvet for enveloping upholstery, where its softly shaded pile brings quiet depth to a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
