About this fabric

This Morris & Co. velvet is supplied at 131 cm usable width and 416 gsm, giving the fabric a substantial presence for upholstery. The 63 cm vertical and 43.5 cm horizontal repeat sets out stylised tulips, fan-like leaves, cream blooms and fine scrolling stems in a tightly balanced composition. Old Fashioned reads as a softened olive-brown colourway, with dusty coral flowers adding restrained warmth and blue-black detailing giving the ground depth. At 57.7 threads per cm, the closely detailed surface supports the rich, compact appearance of this densely patterned design.

How to use it

Use Old Fashioned on a statement armchair, bench or occasional sofa where its olive depth can sit against warm timber, aged brass and natural linen. Pick up the muted coral from the tulips in cushions or small accessories rather than introducing a brighter competing red.
