About this fabric

This Morris & Co. velvet shows stylised leafy stems, curling tendrils and rounded flower heads arranged in a close, symmetrical botanical repeat. The colourway is predominantly cool and deep, with slate and powder-blue foliage lifted by muted lilac accents and icy outlines. At 416 gsm, it has the substantial presence expected of an upholstery velvet, while the softly light-catching surface gives the blue tones added depth. The fabric has a 131 cm usable width, a 63 cm vertical repeat and a 43.5 cm horizontal repeat, with a dense construction of 57.7 threads per cm.

How to use it

Pair the midnight and slate-blue ground with charcoal, ink or pale grey upholstery for a tonal scheme, or draw out the muted lilac flowers with dusty lavender cushions. The detailed repeat works especially well on a statement chair, ottoman or upholstered bedhead.

Use this cool, deep colourway on an occasional chair, sofa or headboard where its detailed botanical repeat can be appreciated.
