Zambezi Velvet Pink

Wilderie Fabric VelvetCCF0542-01

Zambezi Velvet Pink sets two expressive elephants against a dusty blush-pink ground, surrounded by emerald foliage, leopard markings and small celestial details. The richly drawn scene has a warm, storybook character, while the velvet surface gives the colour depth.

About this fabric

The muted pink background is layered with rose, burgundy and brown tones in the elephants and spotted leopard bodies, while deep emerald leaves and a curved rainbow add vivid contrast. As a 340 gsm velvet, this is a substantial textile suited to upholstery rather than a lightweight furnishing application. It has a 138 cm usable width and a 40 m standard length. The design repeats every 54.9 cm vertically and 69 cm horizontally, with the large animal figures forming the dominant visual scale.

How to use it

Use the blush-pink ground as the room’s softer colour anchor on a statement armchair, headboard or footstool, then pick out the emerald leaves with plain green piping or cushions. Keep surrounding surfaces relatively calm so the elephants, leopard spots and rainbow remain legible.

Use this richly illustrated pink velvet on a statement chair or occasional upholstery, balanced with plain emerald, brown or neutral textiles.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Zambezi Velvet Pink without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
