About this fabric

The design shows two elephants, a spotted leopard and curling botanical forms in olive, yellow-gold and charcoal against a warm ivory background. Fine linework, stars, flowers and engraved-style annotations add detail between the larger animal motifs. Its 54.9 cm vertical and 68.5 cm horizontal pattern repeats create a generously scaled composition that will read clearly on upholstery. With a supplied weight of 347 gsm and a 137 cm usable width, the fabric offers a substantial basis for planning upholstered pieces; the standard length is 40 m.

How to use it

Use Zambezi Linen Gold on a statement armchair, headboard or ottoman, pairing the warm ivory ground with olive-painted wood and charcoal accents. Keep surrounding textiles quieter so the gold-green animal scene remains the room’s focal point.

Use this substantial, large-scale animal scene on statement upholstery where its olive-gold and charcoal detail can be fully appreciated.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
