About this fabric

This Carnegie Grouse fabric from Porter & Stone’s Animal Kingdom collection is supplied at 140cm wide and composed of 78% polyester and 22% cotton. The swatch shows a deep cocoa-brown ground with a faint, small-scale animal effect worked into the surface, giving the cloth movement without breaking up the overall tone. Its low-key pattern repeat of 0cm vertical by 4.3cm horizontal suggests a design that sits neatly across furnishings without a strong directional disruption. The finish looks matte and lightly textured, so the colour reads as warm, earthy and slightly shadowed rather than bright or glossy.

How to use it

Use this brown colourway on a tailored armchair, ottoman or banquette where its understated animal pattern can add depth without dominating the room. It works especially well with caramel, tobacco and natural oak tones.
