Elysian Charcoal

Plains & Semi Plains Fabric

Elysian Charcoal is a softly textured plain weave in a cool charcoal taupe, with fine horizontal striations that give the surface a subtle sense of movement. The overall effect is restrained and grounded rather than stark.

About this fabric

Woven in 65% polyester and 35% cotton, Elysian Charcoal has the practical feel of a versatile fabric with a crisp, lightly slubbed surface. The 137cm width makes it straightforward to work into both upholstery and curtain projects, and the plain pattern keeps the focus on the fabric’s quiet texture. In this colourway, the charcoal base is softened by taupe undertones, so it reads less black and more weathered graphite under light. There is no pattern repeat to plan around, which suits clean-lined schemes and broad surfaces.

How to use it

Use Elysian Charcoal to anchor neutral interiors, especially alongside pale timber, stone, or chalky off-whites. Its muted depth also works well with brushed metals and layered greys for a calm, tailored finish.

A quietly tonal weave that suits tailored upholstery and refined curtains alike.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
