Northcott Taupe

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Northcott Taupe has a softly woven, linen-look ground in a warm taupe shade, lifted by a delicate trailing floral motif in pale ivory and muted white. The overall effect is quiet and airy, with enough texture to keep the design feeling tactile.

About this fabric

This Fryett's Fabrics textile is a 140cm-wide fabric in a 40% Cotton, 37% Pol, 23% Viscose blend, with a 23.5cm vertical and 34cm horizontal repeat. The ground reads as a light, warm taupe with a natural, slightly slubbed appearance, while the fine floral trails sit just above it in soft cream and chalky white. The pattern is airy rather than bold, so the blossoms and slender stems add movement without overpowering the base colour. Its balanced cloth and gentle handle make it suitable for both upholstery and drapery applications, depending on the look you want to achieve.

How to use it

Use this taupe colourway to soften larger pieces such as an armchair, ottoman or Roman blind, where the pale floral pattern can be appreciated up close. It pairs especially well with oak, chalk white and muted sage for a calm, layered scheme.

Its gentle taupe ground and pale blossom trail suit calm upholstery or elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
