Porter & Stone

Oscar Harlequin

What's New Fabric

Oscar Harlequin shows a tightly repeating geometric grid over a cool blue-grey ground, lifted by small flashes of ochre, rust and mustard. The result is a neat, collected colourway with a vintage-leaning edge.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric from the What's New collection is composed of 69% polyester, 18% cotton and 13% viscose, with a 145cm width and an 11.5cm pattern repeat. The weave has a crisp, textured look that gives the small hexagonal motif clear definition across the surface. The base reads as slate-blue grey, while the centres of the shapes bring in mustard, burnt orange, brick red and muted gold for a lively but controlled finish. Its compact repeat and balanced palette make the design feel ordered rather than busy, with enough contrast to hold interest at close range.

How to use it

This colourway works well on an accent chair, banquette or cushion where the small-scale geometry can be seen up close. Pair it with pale oak, charcoal or deep navy to draw out the cooler ground and the warmer spice-toned details.

Use with plain linens or walnut wood to let the crisp motif and warm accents stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
