BABYLON Cotton Linen - Papyrus

fabric Fabric1-FA-BAB-LIN-PAP-XXX-XXX

BABYLON in Papyrus places oversized, drooping botanical foliage across a pale papyrus-coloured ground. Olive and sage leaves, traced with dark charcoal lines, create a softly dramatic contrast.

About this fabric

The pale cream ground gives this colourway an airy, parchment-like quality, while the layered leaves bring muted olive and sage tones across the surface. Dark, irregular branches and leaf outlines add depth without overpowering the light background. The foliage is printed at a generous scale, with open areas of ground allowing the pattern to breathe. As a cotton linen fabric, it offers a natural-looking textile character suited to both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Use Papyrus on a statement armchair, headboard or full-length curtains where its warm cream base can brighten the room. Echo the olive leaves with mossy accents and balance the charcoal branches with dark wood or blackened metal.

Use the warm papyrus ground to soften the drama of the olive foliage and charcoal branches, alongside dark timber or aged brass.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
