About this fabric

At 650 gsm, Osamu Steel is a substantial textile suited to upholstery, with enough visual depth for structured seating and occasional pieces. Its pale steel-grey ground reads cool and understated, while the uneven vertical and horizontal threads create a softly broken, almost brushed texture. The 16.5 cm vertical repeat and 1.7 cm horizontal repeat keep the pattern fine and closely spaced rather than bold. Woven at 45 threads per cm, it has a dense appearance; the supplied 140 cm usable width and 30 m standard length support larger upholstery requirements.

How to use it

Use Osamu Steel on a tailored armchair, sofa or headboard to introduce a cool grey layer without making the room feel heavy. Pair its quiet crosshatched texture with charcoal, chalk white, pale timber or muted blue accents.

Use this cool steel-grey upholstery on tailored seating where its fine, irregular check can add quiet depth.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
