Florio Petrol

The house has discontinued this one. We are keeping the page so the link still works, but we can no longer order it. There are alternatives below, and if you have a cutting or a photograph we will help you match it.

Florio Petrol is a deep, cool teal textile with a finely rippling surface pattern. Its near-tonal dark lines move across the blue-green ground, creating texture without a bold contrast.

About this fabric

This substantial 370gsm fabric is supplied at a 142cm useable width and has a 6cm vertical repeat with a broad 140cm horizontal repeat. In the swatch, fine irregular lines undulate across the petrol ground in slightly darker teal, giving the surface a gently striated appearance. The close colour relationship between ground and motif keeps the design understated, while the woven texture adds visible depth as the light shifts across it. A standard length is 30m, making it suitable for considered upholstery schemes requiring a consistent run.

How to use it

Pair Florio Petrol with warm timber, aged brass and chalky neutrals to balance its cool blue-green depth. It works particularly well on a tailored chair, bench or sofa where the subtle horizontal movement can be appreciated across the upholstery.

Use this deep petrol teal to bring cool, inky colour and subtle movement to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

Florio Petrol is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
