Colour 4 Fabrics FabricHAF0488-02

Celestial/Murmuration is shown here as a cool, watery plaid built from softly layered checks. Pale aqua, sea-glass green and grey-blue blocks are crossed by deeper bands, creating a misted, painterly depth.

About this fabric

At 252gsm, this mid-weight fabric has enough substance for upholstery while remaining suitable for drapery. The design combines translucent-looking aqua and mint squares with muted grey-blue vertical and horizontal lines, so the checked pattern feels softened rather than sharply geometric. Its 45cm vertical and 45.5cm horizontal pattern repeats keep the broad grid clearly legible across a furnishing application. The 138cm usable width and 38 threads per centimetre provide practical scale and a visibly even cloth structure.

How to use it

Use this cool aqua-teal colourway to bring a pale, coastal freshness to a chair, ottoman or relaxed curtain, pairing it with chalky whites, bleached timber and soft grey-blue accents. The darker bands can be picked out in piping or cushions for gentle definition.

A cool, watery check that brings soft colour and painterly movement to upholstery, cushions or curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ertha Celestial/Murmuration without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
