Portland Newport Mineral Wavy is a pale, airy stripe with a softly chalked mineral tone running through the ground. The narrow vertical stripes read clean and orderly against the creamy background, giving the fabric an understated coastal freshness.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton, this Portland design has a usable width of 137cm and a 35cm horizontal repeat, making the stripe rhythm easy to plan across curtains, cushions or upholstery panels. The cloth is graded Heavy Domestic with a Martindale rating of 30,000, so it has the durability needed for everyday seating as well as drapery and accessories. Visually, the colourway is a very soft mineral cream with muted mauve-grey striping, so the contrast stays gentle rather than sharp. The result feels light, restrained and slightly washed, with enough pattern to add interest without overpowering a room.

How to use it

Use it where you want a bright but quiet backdrop: on a tailored chair, relaxed blinds or full-length curtains in a pale room. Its cool, chalky stripe sits especially well with bleached wood, white paint and other low-contrast neutrals.

A calm stripe that suits loose upholstery and crisp, light-drawing curtains.
