About this fabric

This upholstery fabric reads as a cool-leaning grey softened with beige, giving the Shale colourway a calm, mineral quality. The close, lightly flecked surface catches the light subtly, creating depth without introducing a distinct pattern. Its substantial-looking melton texture is best suited to upholstered furniture, while no performance features are noted in the supplied specification.

How to use it

Pair this pale greige with chalky whites, weathered timber and soft taupes for a restrained scheme, or use it to cool warmer woods and muted terracotta accents. It is especially effective on a tailored sofa, dining chair or occasional seat where the quiet surface remains understated.

Use this softly muted greige on upholstered seating where its quiet colour and lightly brushed texture can sit comfortably with both warm and cool finishes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
