Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Montrose Melton Marble Grey is a quietly dimensional plain textile, shown here in a cool grey with fine tonal variation across its matte surface. The restrained colour has a composed, architectural feel rather than a warm or decorative cast.

About this fabric

The Marble Grey colourway presents a cool mid-grey field, with subtle lighter and darker flecks that prevent the plain ground from appearing flat. Its close, softly brushed-looking surface has a dense visual character and very little sheen, giving the cloth a tailored, upholstered appearance. Fine vertical grain visible in the swatch adds gentle direction without forming a distinct pattern. No composition, width, rub test or performance features have been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use this cool marble grey on a structured sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its muted tonal texture can complement charcoal, pale stone and brushed metal. Its low-sheen surface also suits calm, contemporary rooms that need depth without a strong pattern.

A cool, softly mottled grey with a dense matte look for tailored upholstery and understated interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
