Montrose Melton Arabica

Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Montrose Melton Arabica is an exceptionally deep espresso brown, appearing almost black where the light falls softly across its surface. Its close, subtly mottled texture gives the plain ground quiet visual depth.

About this fabric

The swatch shows a dense, even textile with a soft melton-like nap and understated tonal variation rather than a visible pattern. Its warm brown undertone keeps the near-black shade from looking flat or cold, while the matte finish absorbs most of the light. No composition, width, rub test or performance specification has been supplied for this fabric. The substantial-looking surface makes it a natural choice for upholstered pieces where a dark, composed finish is wanted.

How to use it

Pair this deep Arabica brown with tobacco leather, smoked timber and warm stone for a richly grounded scheme. It can also bring a sharp, tailored contrast to pale plaster, ivory boucle or brushed metal.

Use this near-black espresso tone to give upholstered seating a grounded, tailored presence.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
