Orkney Porcelain

Orkney Boucle Fabric

Orkney Porcelain has a pale, warm taupe ground with a softly clouded boucle surface. The close-up reveals fine tonal variation, giving the colourway a quiet, tactile depth rather than a flat solid finish.

About this fabric

The fabric is characterised by a nubby, fibrous texture with irregular pale and slightly deeper taupe flecks running across the surface. Its porcelain-inspired tone sits between soft greige and muted beige, reading warm and understated in the photographed light. The close weave-like texture gives the swatch a relaxed, gently rustic appearance without a printed motif. No performance features are noted in the supplied specification.

How to use it

Use Orkney Porcelain on a relaxed armchair, sofa or headboard alongside chalky whites, warm stone and light oak. Its pale taupe depth also works as a soft neutral against darker timber or brushed metal.

Use this softly mottled porcelain taupe on relaxed upholstery where its tactile boucle texture can be appreciated.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
