About this fabric

The close-up shows a tactile bouclé weave, with short, uneven loops creating a softly mottled surface rather than a printed motif. The charcoal-black colour reads deep and cool, while lighter fibres catch across the pile to prevent it appearing completely flat. This is catalogued as a fabric and its substantial, textured appearance makes it best suited to upholstery. No composition, width, rub-test or other performance specification has been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Pair Orkney Black with pale stone, chalky grey or warm timber to balance its dark, cool depth. Its nubby texture works particularly well on contemporary seating where a plain black fabric would feel too stark.

Use this deep charcoal-black bouclé to add tactile depth to contemporary upholstery and darker schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
