Crammond Black

Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Crammond Black is an exceptionally deep, near-black textile with an almost lightless appearance. Its surface shows only a faint, soft grain, giving the swatch quiet depth rather than a pronounced pattern.

About this fabric

The colour reads as a cool, saturated black, with subtle tonal variation appearing where the light catches the gently textured surface. There is no visible motif or repeat; the interest comes from the restrained, low-contrast weave-like texture. The dark ground gives upholstery a formal, cocooning presence without introducing additional colour. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Crammond Black on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its near-black tone can anchor a room. Pair it with warm timber, aged metal or softly coloured textiles to keep the deep shade from feeling stark.

A nearly lightless black with a discreet surface texture for sophisticated upholstery schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
