Ion Fabric

Ion Anthracite is a deep charcoal textile with a softly varied surface that shifts between near-black and muted grey. Its fine, irregular texture prevents the colour from appearing flat.

About this fabric

Seen close up, Ion Anthracite is a near-black charcoal with soft grey lift across the surface rather than a uniform tone. Fine, irregular striations and cloudy flecks create a tactile woven appearance. The dark colour gives the cloth a quiet, grounded presence, while lighter threads keep the face from reading as solid black. No composition, width or performance specification was supplied; its upholstery classification is based on the substantial-looking textile surface visible in the swatch.

How to use it

Use this cool, deep charcoal on a contemporary sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its softly mottled face can add depth without introducing a visible pattern. Pair it with pale grey, chalky neutrals or warm timber to balance the near-black tone.

The deep charcoal tone and subtly mottled texture suit contemporary upholstered seating and darker, layered schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
