Orion III Carbon is a deep charcoal-grey fabric with a restrained, horizontally striated surface. Its softly mottled shading gives the dark tone quiet depth rather than a flat, solid appearance.

About this fabric

The swatch shows a dense textile surface built from fine horizontal lines, with subtle shifts between graphite, charcoal and softer grey. This understated weave catches the light gently, creating a low-contrast texture across the otherwise dark colourway. The fabric is catalogued as a textile fabric, while no composition, width or performance features have been supplied. Its opaque, grounded appearance makes it particularly suited to tailored upholstery where a dark grey surface can provide visual weight without a pronounced pattern.

How to use it

Use Carbon on a structured sofa, armchair or headboard when the room needs a cool, anchoring grey. Balance its depth with chalky walls, pale oak and softly textured neutral cushions so the fine horizontal weave remains visible.

Use its deep charcoal tone to anchor contemporary upholstery, pairing it with pale timber, stone or brushed metal.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
