Kirkby Design

Basket Blood Orange

Basket Blood Orange brings a vivid, sun-warmed orange-red tone to the compact horizontal weave of Kirkby Design’s Picnicoutdoor collection. Cream and coral highlights break up the saturated ground, giving the surface a lively, tactile appearance.

About this fabric

This Outdoor textile is woven with closely spaced horizontal bands and small, repeated basket-like flecks visible across the swatch. Its blood-orange base shifts through bright coral and darker red-orange marks, while cream threads add crisp contrast between the rows. The dense surface reads as a substantial upholstery weave rather than a fluid cloth. The supplied performance feature is Outdoor, making this colourway suited to exterior seating schemes that can carry its energetic, warm colour.

How to use it

Pair this warm blood-orange colourway with pale stone, natural timber or cream-painted frames to balance its vivid horizontal texture. It would bring a cheerful, graphic lift to outdoor cushions and upholstered seating.

Use the warm blood-orange and cream weave on outdoor seating where its lively horizontal rhythm can stand out.

Pairs well with

Basket Blood Orange is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
