About this colour
This shade reads as a warm grey with an earthy undertone, sitting between stone, putty and weathered lead. On a wall it absorbs a fair amount of light, so it gives a room a settled, enclosed feel without turning heavy. In a north-facing room it can look cooler and more slate-like, bringing out its grey side, while in south-facing light the warmth in the colour comes forward and it feels softer and more inviting. It works well beside pale oak, dark walnut, aged brass and upholstery in moss, oatmeal or inky blue.
