About this colour
At #F1F1EF, Shallows reads as an understated warm grey with a faint creamy softness, so it lifts light rather than flattening it. In a north-facing room it can feel cooler and more delicate, leaning a touch more mineral and restrained. In south light it opens out, appearing lighter and slightly warmer, with a soft chalky clarity. It works well beside natural oak, painted timber, linen tones and deeper greys, where its quiet off-white base gives the other finishes room to stand out.
How to use it
Use Shallows on walls where you want a low-key backdrop for upholstered furniture in stone, taupe or charcoal. It is also a good choice for woodwork in rooms with pale woods, aged brass or classic joinery.
