Laverne Grey

Misc Fabric

Laverne Grey has a softly weathered, painterly look, with layered cloud-like marks in taupe, stone and charcoal over a pale grey ground. The large abstract repeat gives the fabric a relaxed but considered presence.

About this fabric

Woven in 67% viscose and 33% polyester, Laverne Grey balances a slightly lustrous handle with practical stability. The 140cm width makes it suitable for larger-scale furnishings, while the 69cm pattern repeat supports the generous, organic motif seen in the image. Its surface reads as a muted mix of warm grey, mushroom and ivory, with deeper smoky outlines that add definition without making the design feel harsh. The overall effect is tonal and textural rather than bold, so the pattern feels layered and contemporary rather than busy.

How to use it

This colourway works well on statement cushions, occasional upholstery or full-length curtains where the soft grey and taupe palette can be viewed at close range. Pair it with chalky neutrals, dark wood and brushed metal for a calm, tailored scheme.

Use with plain linens or velvets to let the mottled pattern and warm grey tones do the work.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Laverne Grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
